Woo Hoo!! Wedneday

Did you see my cousins ADORABLE cupcakes on Monday's post?
I'm continuing the cupcake theme here today. I've had cupcakes on the brain lately. SO many yummy ones I want to try.  And when don't you think Woo Hoo!! when you eat a cupcake. In fact, I'm eating one right now. This one :

I love the idea of cupcake thrones. I found these on Stamps Paper Scissors
I'm looking forward to stuffing my cupcakes with Jam's from Sweetness Follows. There are some DE-lish sounding flavors on this girls site. I ordered me the Triple Berry Mojito and the Bourbon Cherry ;)

And while you're in the kitchen  whipping up some cupcakes you might want to have a few good men around to help you take those cupcakes out of the oven. Meet Craig and Trent from BubbleOffPlumb. Well hello boys...

Warriors Wanted

Looks like the party gene flows in my cousin Amy too.  How adorable are these cupcakes her and her friends Cassidy and Dan made. The kids were so cute, they said Bring on Cupcake Wars!  I'd So vote for them.
I love how they Fizzy'd up the box too.  Creative kids, I LOVE it!

A BIG thank you to my cousin Amy and her friends Cassidy and Dan for letting me share their adorable cupcakes with you.

Mini Waffle Bar Breakfast

This was going to be a BBQ with three of my friends but then one forgot she already had a lunch date so we switched it to a breakfast but that meant one of the other girls couldn't come.  (Yes I call my 40ish year old friends girls. I know women is the proper term but it just sounds so serious and well, old. My opinion).  Although my brain was already planning how to Fizzy up a BBQ I switched gears quickly and Fizzy'd up a waffle bar instead. The purpose of this mini get together is because a) my friend has every Friday off, b) I had a furlough day from work this Friday c) our mutual friend is moving out of state next month.

Of course you've GOT to rock the Mrs. B when you make waffles or pancakes.  I'm also really liking these Glenmore Farms syrup's too. They have very few ingredients, are tasty and made in my home state, Go Oregon! Supporting the local economy Woo Hoo!!
To Fizzy up those waffles my friends could choose from colourful sprinkles, cinnamon marshmallows (these made me think of The Marshmallow Studio )

Nuts, coconut, I had chocolate chips too
And fruit. Which, I forgot. Between my day job being extra busy so my brain is tired (said like a cranky toddler) by the time I get home and the heat wave passing through Oregon, I completely spaced the fruit when I was at the store getting everything else. It was even on my list!  I had a bag of frozen blueberries on hand and my friend offered to pick up some strawberries on her way over, yeah!
I know I know, the plastic wrap looks tacky in the pails but I didn't know if they were food safe. Just looking out for my friends.
I forgot to snap a photo of the watermelon I cut into cute little flower shapes.  I'd been up since 6:15 a.m. baking the cupcakes so by 10:30 a.m. my brain was on it's afternoon break. I wanted to bake before it got hot, we have no A/C and it's been about 95.  It didn't take me 4 hours to bake, I also cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, pinned (soo addicting). But I'm sure you can picture watermelon all cut into cute flower shapes.

I also made these YUMMY hasbrown cups, Recipe here

Mimosas hit the spot as we dined Al fresco.
Glazed Doughnut cupcakes seemed very fitting for a mini breakfast party.

Unfortunately, they didn't taste as good as they sounded.  In my opinion.  I thought they were a little dry and un-flavorful.  I was a little bummed because I got up early on my day off to make these.  You just never know if a recipe is going to be a winner until you try it.  Who knows, maybe you'd like it.

I gave each of the girls a party favor. At least I tried.  We got to talking and laughing, eating too much and enjoying the sun and when the first friend left I forgot to hand it to her.  Good excuse to get together again, I have to get her her party favor.
Despite all the oops, forgetting to take photos to share with you all, the cupcakes not turning out and forgetting to pass out a party favor it was a fun day.  My friends still enjoyed the get together and that's what matters.

Woo Hoo!! Wednesday

Shopping today in the Pearl district over the lunch hour my friend and I stopped into Sur La Table where I promptly saw this adorable honey pot.  A bargain for only $7.95.  So why is this a Woo Hoo!! Wednesday you ask? This isn't extravagant, over the top, expensive etc etc.  True. You're right. It's none of those things.
BUT, I have no use for a honey pot no matter how adorable it is.  I detest the taste of honey. Yes, you heard me.  In foods I can tolerate it. ON foods, No. No no no no no. When you have a sore throat they say honey heals it quickly. So I gag down, yes gag, a teaspoon down. My sore throat does go away sooner but oooh is it nasty.  So as you can see, honey is a Woo Hoo!! Wednesday.

How great would it be to get a jar of cute honey as a party favor. Fabulous. If you like honey.
Honey sticks. Kids LOVE these. Except me. By the way, this an adorable little blog called Oh, Hello Friend.

I do find honey/bee themed parties cute and you can have SO much fun with them. I just wouldn't eat any of the food that tasted like honey :) And I can't get that little honey pot out of my head. So cute. But again, what would I do with it?
Friends and family reading this post: yes I think this honey pot is the bees knees but please don't get it for me Christmas.
I have to be so careful what I put on here that I adore. I just may end up receiving it as a gift :) Woo Hoo!!

30 Going On 13: Why Grow Up?

Hi everyone! I'm Stacy from the Cupcake Crusaders and I am so excited to be a guest on Fizzy Party to share my twin sister, Jenn, and my recent birthday celebration. For this particular party we were turning THE BIG 3-0 and knew we had to go all out. Being graphic designers we initially wanted to do fancy invites, over the top decorations, the works. Unfortunately life got in the way and we were left with just a couple weeks to pull our party together. Luckily we both reminded each other of what Fizzy Party always says, it doesn't have to be perfect, just try to add a little fizzy to your party to make it special. With this in mind we quickly put together a Facebook invite and started brainstorming ideas.

The past few years we've helped plan parties for a few 1 year old and 2 year old girls (specifically, my nieces). This has meant many trips to the party store and we always found ourselves saying "I want that!" while roaming the kid's isles. From there we had our theme: 30 Going On 13: Why Grow Up?

Equipped with our theme, we were ready to do some shopping. First on the list: decorations and dinnerware. If we were going to customize anything at our party we needed to know the color scheme so we headed to Target.

Of all the fabulous decorations they had there, we chose these plates and napkins:

We instantly feel in love with the bold bright colors and of course, the cupcakes. We got a great matching bunting to put across the top of the window and balloons for touches of color throughout the inside and outside of the house.

Being the Cupcake Crusaders, the one thing we were on top of was making and ordering the cupcakes:

We loved these glittery 3 and 0 candles. Not only did we need two cupcakes to hold each number, but we loved the that 2 cupcakes represented each of us. Those two blueberry lemon cupcakes were made by yours truly. Thank goodness everyone liked them! (And in case you are curious, yes, that is cotton candy below the cupcakes... Yum!)

These beautiful cupcakes were ordered from Weekend Cupcake, a "cupcake hobbyist" who we reviewed recently. These two were some of our favorite flavors: Chocolate Chocolate and Chocolate Toffee.

Since there were so many cupcakes we decided that a "Cupcakes-To-Go" station would be completely necessary:

Even though we didn't design invitations, we were able to use our design skills for some of the
smaller items at the party, like this sign above.

Other than cupcakes, we had lots of chips, candy, and other sweet treats (including frosted AND dipped animal crackers). Jenn saw this on a party planning website and thought it was a cute idea:

We don't really think that 30 sucks, but it was fun way to incorporate some of the candy into the theme.

My husband even surprised us with a couple fun things that went perfect with our theme:

A cupcake pinata filled with mini liquor bottles.

Mustache finger tattoos. I got to the pink one first.  :)

To really seal the deal on this being a party that could be totally appropriate for a child (minus the mini liquor bottles) was the make your own goodie bags station. This was so much fun to put together and everyone seemed to have a great time with it:

Some of the goodies included were cupcake crazy straws, candy flavored lip gloss, temporary tattoos, stickers, mini slinkies, jelly braclets, mechanical pencils, and flower magnets. It was awesome.

Even though this party came together in just a couple of weeks, I think it turned out incredibly well. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves and appreciate all the small touches and best of all we both had a great time!

Birthday Girl Jenn on the left, and Birthday Girl Stacy (me!) on the right. The matching tank tops were an accident... we do that a lot...

Something I plan to keep reminding myself is that Fizzy Party is right, your parties don't have to be perfect, but when you can, try to add some special touches that will make it memorable and all your guests will have an amazing time.

Instant Parties

Recently I had borrowed a movie from my aunt and asked a friend if they wanted to come over and watch.  Her sister was in town so it didn't work out.

Than a few days later I receive an email from her, "do you still have the movie? Have you watched it? I have left over pizza, wanna come over?"  I still had it and I hadn't watched it. Instant party. Her sister had left earlier than she thought she was.

Quick stop at the store for some refreshments. Vanilla vodka mix's really well with Cherry Coke and Coke.
And we were ready for dinner and a movie.I totally didn't mind left over pizza. It was fun to just have an instant party with a friend. The movie was really good too.
Being an instant party I didn't have time to make cupcakes. I was going to make football themed ones to go with the movie. So I stopped at Saint Cupcake instead, YUM!
Lemon, Red Velvet, Coconut (my fav, it melts in your mouth) and Pumpkin with cream cheese frosting ( oh my goodness was that good)
I love the instant party.  I can hear my husband now,"you're posting pictures of your pizza?"  Yeah. This is my party journey. And well, this was a party. Wouldn't you agree?

For your summer or fall party, the beehive cake stand. So cute :)
Of course you'd need A-Z. Only $20 each. This is Woo Hoo!! Wednesday ;)
I adore all the little mini party dishes. Forget the dream party pantry. I need a dream party ROOM.
