Happy Birthday/Blogiversary

Woo Hoo!! It's Fizzy Party's Birthday or is it Blogiversary? (I'm not sure what the correct term is, does it matter? nah) Either way, it's a very BIG Woo Hoo!! Wednesday.

It's time to Celebrate good times, come on...Let's celebrate (I'd like to thank Cool and the Gang for that fun song).  You know I'll be celebrating with a cupcake. Snickers cupcakes. (Thank you Pinterest for the idea and My Baking Addiction for the recipe)
I'm having lunch at Little Big Burger with a friend and meeting some friends for pizza for dinner. That's right, I know how to celebrate, all.day.long.
One year ago I took the plunge and started this little blog. It's all your fault Party Frosting :) Fizzy Party has grown a lot in it's first year. It has its own Facebook page with lots of fabulous Little Fizzy's. I love reading and connecting with them all. It's on Twitter and was featured in Bird's Party Magazine spring issue
This little blog has grown beyond what I first imagined for it.

I've connected with so many great people though this blog and hope to connect to many more. Some of the wonderful supportive people I'd love to meet in person some day are, Party Frosting-she's a kick, Cupcake Crusaders -they have been so supportive, Bakingdom-fun blog and she lives in my town! and Bird's Party- very supportive and she asked ME to be in her magazine, sigh. Party Pinching is a MUST for this group of fabulous people. We've met, in person, and she's my party sister.

Where will Fizzy Party go for it's second year? A new design for sure. It's own E-zine? book? movie deal?

Thank you for joining me on this party journey. I could go on and on but you have parties to plan and throw, not sit and listen to me all day long. Ha ha (cue Oscar music, you know the one they play to get the actors to shush up and get off the stage)

Be sure to leave some blogy LOVE :) On here,  Facebook, Twitter or email. Oh what the heck, why not all 3   :)

Tasty House Warming

Saturday I attended a house warming.  We all know decorating isn't part of a house warming, unless of course it's my house warming. hee hee.  House warming's are all about the Tour and food :)

Here's a tour of the food high-lights;

Greg's Famous Fish Taco's
Cherries fresh from the market
Blue Berry Faux cheese cake. The blueberries are from my friends yard. They have a lot of well established blueberries. I may need to go visit them more often ;)
Key Lime Coconut bars. I saw this recipe and had to try it. It's always nice to show up at a house warming with something besides a bottle of wine. These bars are very tasty. In fact I had to make another batch just for my husband.
Happy House Warming Greg and Lauren!

The Shifty Eyed Bunny

Yesterday, July 19th was my husband and I's 4th anniversary. How did we celebrate, we didn't.  Well, not on the day itself. The tiki party is our little wedding reminder.  We tend to celebrate the engagement more. It's so easy to do since it was the day after my birthday :) and we usually go to the beach for my birthday, which by the way, was where we got engaged. At the beach.

How did my husband propose you ask. In a very cute way.
We were at the beach for my birthday and Easter happened to fall close to my birthday that year. See how clever he was. The bag is filled with chicks and bunnies full of Easter candy, there's a birthday present in there AND the bag has a wedding cake on it.
Keep your eye on that little brown bunny with the shifty eyes. (this is what your English teacher would call foreshadowing)

This is where we got engaged.
Do I want to reveal where this is? It's kind of our special spot.
Every time we're down near Yachats, Oregon we stop here.
My husband and I :)

So here's a funny little story. We're down on the beach, with the bag full of candy. My husband tells me he thinks I'd like the candy in the chocolate bunny best. Remember that shifty eyed bunny I told you to watch out for?
Yeah well, it wasn't full of candy.
You think that's a memory maker? Wait till you hear this. I open up the bunny, sensing something is up. I get a peek at the ring before my husband gets on one knee and proposes while he slips it on my finger. Now you'd think the first words out of my mouth would have been yes. Nope. I said, " oh my gosh, it's too big!" I kid you not. As soon as I said it I immediately then said,"wait wait lets do that again. I just wasn't expecting it to be so big"
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE it. Not because of it's size but because of the story behind it. My husband had spent months going to every jewelry store looking for the perfect cut. The man learned how to use a jewels loupe and knows more about diamond grading than I do. Aren't women suppose to know about these things, not men?
When we walked into the store where he bought it to get it sized all the sales people said, John! You know like they do on Cheers when Norm walks in. That's how I found out just how special this year is.

Readers, I'd say this mans a keeper.
Happy Anniversary to an amazing man.

It's Time to Tiki

Welcome to Tiki IV
Come on in and enjoy the party

Wreath idea from Family Chic

Oh, you got stuck in traffic and need to use the restroom before you  dish up ? Down the hall, first door on your left.
The scent of pineapple mango fills the air. Yes, I decorated the bathroom too.

Fix yourself a drink, load up your plate and join us outside.
Luau Cocktail, always a hit. Never any left over and you can easily add rum, whiskey or your "punch" of choice.

Those of you that follow me on Facebook, and if you're not, why aren't you? Know the joke behind this coconut.
Coconut chicken with sweet chili dipping sauce from Budget Bytes.  The chicken is good but the sauce makes it taaasty.
Ready for dessert? We've got some tasty treats for you over here on the dessert table.

Gummy sharks swimming among the lei's.
Pineapple-coconut ice cream
White Chocolate Rocky Road by Bistro Gerard and brought my wonderful friend TheMistressT. This is quit delicious.

Pineapple cupcakes with coconut cream cheese frosting from Glorious Treats and cupcake toppers from Bird's Party.

Thank you coming. Hope you had a good time, got some great ideas, were inspired and I look forward to seeing you next year for Tiki V. I have some BIG ideas brewing.

Woo Hoo Wednesday

Woo Hoo!!!!  Cupcake Crusaders  is a year old this month!
Happy blogiversary to them.  I really enjoy reading their blog.  Even though it makes me want a cupcake every time I do ;)

They won't rest until they've tried them all :)

Not only do they taste cupcakes every where they go, they also make them.  I've tagged some tasty recipes from them.

Although they're on the East coast and I'm out West I've gotten to know these crusaders and consider them my friends.  It's probably a good thing they don't live close by or I'd need to up my running from 2 miles 3-4 days a week, to training for a 1/2 marathon.

If you're a cupcake lover too, pop on over and leave them some bloggy love. The crusaders can also be found on Facebook , Twitter, and Pinterest.

A BIG congratulations for 1 year. Cupcake cheers :)

Whooo's Turning 60?

My aunt that's Whoo.  (she likes owls).  Saturday the whole family celebrated, about 40 of us, that's aunts, uncles, cousins and their kids. Yep, we come from a big family :) LOVE.

My aunt's sister, brother-in-law and niece threw this party.  Since we have such a large immediate family it was held at the Jackson School House. Cute little space with a great area outside. It was a gorgeous day for the party.
Feeding 40+ people takes a lot of food. Hamburgers and hot dogs were grilled in the gorgeous Oregon sun.

Since I didn't throw this party the decorations weren't  OVERBOARD like I always do (I can't help it). It was a such a gorgeous day outside too so any decorations inside would have been a bit of a waste anyway. My aunt and cousin did balloon out the outside and the cake table. Oops! I cut off the balloons in the picture.
Oh yes we did. My cousin and I lit all 60 candles. The cake is from Costco.

We had such a great time. I have a LARGE immediate family and we all get along great.  5+ hours is a typical get together :)

One July party down and 4 more to go. Woo Hoo!!

4th of July

I missed the family BBQ this year. LOVE my family. I really am blessed and have an amazing LARGE family. We all enjoy spending time together :)  This year my husband and I spent the 4th of July at my parents beach house in Long Beach, WA  love love love the beach.

We always stop in Seaside, OR at Mazatlan on the way to the house. mmmm Mexican food. The portions are BIG, cheesy goodness :)
Downtown Seaside was PACKED with so many people showing their patriotic spirit. I love when people get into the spirit of the holiday's. Here's just a sample of what we saw:

At the house I whipped up a little table of snacks for us to enjoy before the fireworks.  We were still stuffed from Mexican food so we skipped dinner and went straight for the snacks.
Cracker Jacks, Jello cookies and Pop Rocks cupcakes .
Down on the beach waiting for the fireworks to begin.
The spectators down on the beach gave us quite a show before the professional one began.  I think we saw about $2,000 worth of fireworks go off from all the people down on the beach. They looked just about as good as the pros.
The professional show was great but they had some technical difficulties and there was some lulls in the show.  Not to worry though. The spectators filled right in with their own fireworks :)
The next day was the beach clean up and there was A LOT to clean up.  I was about to say the weekend but it was the middle of the week! Let's try this again, the 4th and 5th were absolutely GORGEOUS! I didn't want to go back to work on Friday :(
I hope you had a GREAT 4th. Tell me all about it!  Love hearing about how others spend their holiday's.

Woo Hoo!! Wednesday

      HAPPY 4th of JULY
How PERFECT! The 4th is on Woo Hoo!! Wednesday. I hope you're all doing something fun with your family or friends.

Like my dollar store patriotic plate. Perfect for when you're going to watch fireworks outdoors in the Columbia Gorge with friends like we did in...2009. That was fun. My husband and I had a BBQ with my friend and her parents. Followed by fire works in the gorge.
 Fireworks in the Columbia Gorge.

What did we do in 2010?  Watched the neighbors fireworks. In 2011? this is really sad, but we didn't do anything. In store for 2012? Wouldn't you like to know :) Ha ha. OF course I'll tell you...
on Friday!
