It was GAME time Saturday. Not having cable I couldn't host. Luckily my friend does have cable and was willing to host, woo hoo!!
Oregon State University
Vs.
University of Oregon
Of all my friends I'm the party diva. Hosting many throughout the year. So I was extra excited my friend was hosting and loved how she went all out on such short notice. You see, I sort of emailed her earlier in the week and said, sooo you hosting a civil war party? {hint hint}
Now I admit, I was expecting her to just order up a pizza and have some soda, maybe some chips. I couldn't have been more wrong. Her whole kitchen counter was loaded with food. She even themed out the food. Bonus Woo Hoo!! points.
Meatloaf in the shape of a football. BONUS party points!
Beaver cookies, because all the girls invited, that's right no guys at this football party, went to OSU. I love how she went the extra fizzy mile and added brown sprinkles for fur, eyeballs and BONUS displayed them in a wood tree bowl.
One of the party guests made a fabulous cheesy fondue and BONUS fizzy points to her too for putting the fondue in a pumpkin.
I may just be rubbing off on these ladies ;) Woo Hoo!!

The Rose Bowl
January 2nd is the Rose Bowl. The Wisconsin Badgers vs. The Oregon Ducks. I'll be watching the game and was going to have some friends over for a small Rose Bowl party but didn't have time to plan it. With my step-son in a car accident just before Christmas my focus was on him and his recovery, not parties. Now that he's on the mend, party planning can move to the top of the list again :)
Here's what I wanted to do for the Rose Bowl party:
Cookies representing each team. The Badgers cookies were found on Flickr and the Ducks cookies were found on The Bend Cookie Company.
These football invitations from With Love Greetings would be fun for any football party. I'll have to keep these in mind for the Super Bowl.
Taco cupcakes from Plain Chicken and mini corn dogs from My Kitchen Adventures would make good finger food.
GOOOooooo Badgers!

That's right, I'm a Beaver, Go OSU!!!

Dessert, 2 cakes of course, because Oregon State wouldn't be caught eating a slice of University of Oregon cake. And the Ducks wouldn't eat from the Beaver's cake.
Both cakes from Cake Central
