Fiesta- Cinco De Mayo

It's Fiesta Time!

*I was given product from Oriental Trading in exchange for styling a party.

Fiesta Cinco De Mayo party. For full party details go to FizzyParty.com

Cinco De Mayo is one party I look forward to every year.  It's bright, fun and I love Mexican food. Guac on everything!

Go bright for Cinco De Mayo with Fizzy Party

As you can see I went for bright colors this year. I created a popping yellow and green backdrop by using paper fans and a Del Sol banner.  This backdrop is easy to set up and covers a lot of area.

Bright fiesta desserts await in this party created by Fizzy Party

The black table linen allows the colors of the decor and desserts to really POP.  I always like to offer a variety of desserts for my guests to choose from.

Candy kabobs by Sweets Indeed are nestled in pineapple Jelly Belly jelly beans.  You better believe my guests dug into those jelly beans too.

I made GIANT cupcakes for this fiesta.  Why? Because my fiend recently surprised me with a giant cupcake tin and liners and I wanted to use them.  I took Kraft Jet-Puffed S'moreMallows and painted on them with food grade markers.  I also may or may not have eaten a bunch while trying to decide what to draw on them.

Kraft Jet-Puffed marshmallows make great cupcake toppers.

In addition to the S'moremallow toppers I created for the cupcakes I made cactus tulle poms. They turned out so cute. I'm thinking I need to get these in my shop.

Sprinkle Made  made some macarons in the shape of cacti for me that I laid on a bed of Candyfetti from Sweets Indeed.   I love using Candyfetti as a bed for cookies.  It shows off the cookies and comes in so many colors.

Oriental Trading has some fun cactus items perfect for Cinco De Mayo.  This cactus drink dispenser was a must as soon as I saw it.  How cute is it! And those cactus drink cups are the best. They're not paper. They're ceramic. They're no joke.

Does that tray look familiar?  You got it, Target Dollar Spot.  I picked it up to use for a tropical party and when I was setting up this Fiesta party I was like, OH, it would be perfect for this party too.  The bright yellow of the tray matches perfect with this party.  One thing you'll notice with my parties is that you'll see some of the same items. I believe in re-using items for my parties.

Treat your Cinco De Mayo guests to a mini cactus bar

!Salud! Here's to fiesta'ing with friends.

It's Fiesta time with these cute cactus glasses from Oriental Trading.

No party is complete without party favors.  I took plain mustache boxes from Oriental Trading and added Fiesta, a cactus and banner to the box for some color and fun.

Fiesta party favor boxes. See what they're filled with over at Fizzy Party.com

Inside the party favor box were maraca pens and macaron's.  I didn't fill up the boxes too much because I knew my friends would want to fill them up with treats to take home.

Fill your Fiesta party favor box with treats to go and mini maracas.

Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think of this party.  I'd love to hear if you'll be throwing a Cinco De Mayo party too.

As stated at the beginning of this post, I was given product by Oriental Trading in exchange for throwing this party.

Easter Bright Party

Pastels for Easter?  Forget that!  Bring on the brightness!!  This bright poppin Easter chic invitation sparked this party.  How cute are those chicks. Even the back has bright chicks all over it.  Guests love receiving happy mail, especially something as bright as this cutie.
Tiny Prints Easter Invitation

For this brunch I served up mini croissants, fruit, quiche and sweets of course.  The quiche I made but the croissants I left to the bakery.  I'd like to learn how to make them but... that's going to be on my to-do list for awhile.  When throwing a party keep your stress down and pick up pre-made food. Unless you love to cook and can whip something up like it's nothing. By all means, go for it then.

I made the fun backdrop by attaching balloons to the wall. The balloons matched the colour of the chicks in the invite.  I just taped them right up there.  They stayed up for days.  Oh yeah, I keep my party backdrops up for days, sometimes a week after the party.

Instead of cupcakes or a cake I served up cake in push pop containers.  My neighbor, Delectable Baked Goods  made the cake and frosting colours to match the invitation.

This is dangerous.  I couldn't put these Jelly Belly jelly beans out until the first guest actually arrived.  These are my weakness.  I would eat this whole bowl if left unattended.  Good thing I was too busy playing hostess or I would have been on one big sugar high!

Oh my CUTENESS!  I finally ordered some candy apples from Roni Sugar Creations.  She turned the chicks on the invitation into candy apples.  Not only are these super cute but they are tasty. mmmmm mmmm  I'd eat way more apples if they all were covered in caramel and candy.

Party Favors!!! These were super easy to make. Keep scrolling to find out.

To make these fun tasty party favors you'll need a plastic container available at party and craft stores.  Cut ribbon to fit the size of the lid and adhere it with double stick tape.  I glued a little candy bunny to the front to add some detail and topped the lid with a tulle pom I made.  You can make your own pom or just order one from me. I've got you covered.  Fill container with candy and you're done.  My guests LOVED these.

After the party is over I always like to send a thank you to my guests for coming.  I know my guests time is valuable and I appreciate them coming over and spending a few hours of their weekend at my party.

Oh Snap! Sweets Christmas Party

Oh Snap Christmas Party by Fizzy Party

Oh Snap!  It's party time! December means Christmas Open House parties and when I saw this invitation I had this years theme.  I filled the cute invitation with  fun custom confetti from The Confetti Bar . If you pop over to Instagram and type in #FizzyPartyOhSnap you'll see lots of party fun.

With that sweet little gingerbread man on the invitation hinting of what was to come at the party I didn't disappoint my guests.   My fav, gummy sweets by Sweets Indeed  were served with happy little gingerbread men on them. It was super hard not to eat these before the guests arrived.  Seriously guys, I have a major gummy candy addiction.  Candifetti, the newest addition to the Sweets Indeed family added colour to the bottom of the jar.

Gingerhead Cookies  did a great job creating cookies based off the invitation. How cute is that gingerbread man!

Sno-Ball fight! Fancy and Fold's gingerbread man toppers are the perfect accent to the Sno-Ball cakes. They were as close to snow as we've received this year.

Marshmallow pops by Sparkling Sweets Boutique.  These are fun to dip into your hot cocoa. Hot cocoa is a must for December parties. It warms everyone up when the weather outside is chilly.

Cute cupcake toppers by Edible Details add whimsy to cupcakes and your table.  Add some festive fun by sitting the cupcakes on top peppermint sticks.  Your guests might sneak one to add to their hot cocoa and that's ok.  Peppermint in hot cocoa is so nummy.

Comfy squishy pillows and a cozy blanket helped the guests relax and enjoy the afternoon with friends. All stress about the holiday's was forgotten for a few hours.

I always send my guests home with a Thank You and party favor.  I love that these thank you cards carry the theme to the back of the card as well.

Guests were sent home with gingerbread sugar scrubs sporting a custom label from Small Moments. This scrub makes your shower smell sooo good and your skin so incredibly soft.  I used A Pumpkin and a Princess's recipe.   I used dark brown sugar which works just as well as light brown.

Sweet Treats for the Holidays Blog Book Tour

Sweet Treats for the Holidays Book Review and Giveaway!

Following in the glittery paw prints of The Purple Pug, I'm stop number 2 on the Blog Book Tour of the sweet Norene Cox of Party Pinching  and her even sweeter book Sweet Treats for the Holidays

This book is PACKED with sugary fun. The best thing about this book is that everything is store bought! No baking required. Norene takes every day candy and creates little sugary works of holiday edible art.  I've been shopping with this creative candy artist and seen the sparkle she gets in her eye when she sees a bag of candy and inspiration  hits. Me, I just see a bag of candy. Norene sees, well, pick up a copy of her book and you'll see what she sees.

I had the pleasure of going to her book signing in her home town. So proud of my friend. Woo Hoo! Norene's dream of having a book published came true and she SOLD OUT! But don't worry, you can still get a copy at Amazon or Barnes and Noble. This book makes an excellent gift for anyone. I do mean anyone. The directions are easy to follow and there's fabulous pictures you can use as a guide. My fav is on page 10. So stinkin CUTE!
Norene of Party Pinching and I at Wight's in Washington
Sweet Treats for the Holidays covers every holiday. From New Years to Halloween to Hanukkah to Kwanzaa.

Wow your guests with Glamorous Midnight Marshmallow Pops.
I love that Norene didn't just focus on Christmas in her book. There is a whole section on Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.
Hanukkah Cake Bites
How adorbs are these Snowy White Reindeer Cookies! Although I think these are beyond cute, these guys are not the ones that made me squeal with delight. Page 10 people. Get the book and see what I'm talking about :D
This little cutie Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Cookie is so simple to make and just to prove it to you Norene has allowed me to include the directions on how to make it.
Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Cookies
Martha approved. I’m not even kidding.
It’s kind of surreal when Martha Stewart actually says what you made is “adorable”. My hot cocoa marshmallow mug cookies won her over and believe me, it is “a good thing.”- Norene

Approximately ¼ cup of white candy coating
4 mini candy canes
4 large marshmallows
1 (16-oz.) can chocolate frosting
12 Jet-Puffed mallow bits
1 (7-oz.) pouch store-bought white cookie icing
4 store-bought tea cookies
40 small tree sprinkles
4 large tree sprinkles
1. Melt candy coating in small microwave-safe bowl according to package instructions.
2. Cut candy cane at the curve. Dip ends into melted candy coating and push into side of marshmallow. Hold in place until it hardens and is secure.
3. Using a small knife spread a small amount of chocolate frosting on top of marshmallow leaving a small rim. Top with 3 mallow bits.
4. Frost cookie with white icing. Place marshmallow in the middle of cookie.
5. Place 10 small tree sprinkles around the perimeter of cookie.
6. Attach large tree sprinkle to front of marshmallow using candy coating.
Makes 4 cookies.

Oh we're not done. Did you think the fab photo's and recipe were it? No way, there's a GIVEAWAY! That's right. You could win a copy of Sweet Treats for the Holidays AND 6 tulle rosettes like the ones Party Pinching used on her favor bags.
Rosettes only, favor bag not included
