Go Fly a Kite Party
Happy Kite Flying Day! I can't believe I haven't shared this party on my own blog before. This party has been featured on some other great party blogs and I totally meant to share it here with you and then well, I just spaced. oops.
I called up a friend, told her "I'm shooting a party at Cannon Beach, wanna come?" You guessed it, she didn't say no. We hit the jack pot that day with the weather. The Oregon coast doesn't always have the best weather. And forget about going in the ocean even in summer. I mean, people do it, but it's cold. Like when you come out of the water you have goose bumps even on the hottest day of summer because the water is so cold. I just don't go in the water.
When hosting a party at the beach don't forget the sunscreen. A sunburn is not a party favor you want to take home.
Why octopus kites on the printables? Because in Lincoln City, a beach on the Oregon coast I always see octopus kites flying. They're different and I wanted a little bit different look to my kite party.
For lunch I served up individual servings of clam chowder. Printables in the party theme helped pull the whole look together.
Sea themed treats of Gold Fish crackers and gummy octopuses.
It wouldn't be a party without cupcakes.
Guests were sent home with party favors in colourful bags that matched the colour scheme of the party. The octopus tags soar toward the paper clouds.

ReplyDeleteThank you Nathalie. Isn't that fabric great. When I saw it I knew it was perfect for this party.
DeleteI am pretty sure this is my favorite material of all your fabric-yardage-as-table-cover!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great! I HAD to have this fabric the moment I saw it.
