Galentine's Day Girls Fort Brunch

Galentine's Day is coming and of course I had to put my own spin on it.   You see lots of red, pink, black/white/red, champagne brunches.   But have you ever seen a girls fort theme?

My inspiration for this party was the Pantone colours of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity. So how did I go from the colours of the year to a girls fort theme. Honestly, I don't know. The idea just popped in my head.

I contacted Painting Paris Pink to create the invitation for me. She nailed it! Now if only I could have held the party in a real tree fort. How fun would that have been?

Every tree fort has a sign, usually it says No Girls Allowed but this was a Galentine's party so No Boys Allowed. Husbands, boyfriends and sons had to stay home.  The writing is meant to be child like to reflect the tree fort signs made by the kids who use them. Tassel garland made by Fancy and Fold added a party touch.

I would have made the tissue tassel garlands myself but every time I've tried they look pretty sad. This is one craft I'm happy to order from someone else. Have you ever tried to make one?

Well Hello, welcome to the Galentine's fort.  Recognize that occupant?  If not, pop on over to the Fall Trends party and get acquainted. She got all sparklified for this party.
If the faux wood backdrop looks a little half hazardley put it up it's on purpose. Tree forts are usually made of scraps of wood and have that pieced together look about them.

Since tree forts are put together with scraps and are for kids I made sure to not be perfect when putting up the backdrop.  The faux wood paper is a mixture of scraps put together just as a real tree house would be.  I used paper printed with leaves to represent the foliage of a tree where tree forts are built. Hid my dining rooms red wall with paper in the closest colour I could find to Serenity and made a tree trunk out of brown parcel paper.  The tassel garland is hung crookedly on the tree fort as if a little girl tacked it up to pretty up the outside of her fort.

What is that it? Nope, come back by on Wednesday and join me for brunch. Lots of good food served.

Vendors I used for this party:
Invitation:  Request the invitation seen in this party or have one created by Painting Paris Pink
Paper and wood heart sign: All available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft
Tassel garland: If you're like me and your tassel garland just doesn't turn out well, order one from Fancy and Fold
