Summertime Entertainment Ideas

Summertime is a great time to entertain. The weather is perfect to host a party outdoors and it stays light a lot longer.
For many people a BBQ cookout is THE summer party. For me, as soon as summer hits I think of hosting a Hawaiian tropical party. Bring a little slice of the islands to your backyard, porch, balcony or rooftop this summer with these inspirational ideas.

I love to start with bright poppin colours like the colours seen here as my inspiration.

Let your guests know they're in for a good time by sending a fun unique invitation.  Paperless Post is passionate about providing unique invitations and many summer themes to choose from. This tropical confetti invite is too much fun.

As your guests arrive offer them a drink. Have a variety of drinks on hand. Water is a must, soda and a fun drink that matches your party theme like a mango orange margarita.

Hawaiian/tropical parties lend themselves to easy fun foods. Leaving you more time to enjoy your own party.
Spam and pineapple skewers are super easy to make and will be a HIT at your party. I've made these for my parties and not a skewer is left.

Fruit is always great to have on hand too. People crave refreshing fruit in the summer.

Don't forget to add a little decor to tie the whole party theme together.  I love to go all out with the details, even making sure I have pineapple hand soap in the bathroom. Of course, you don't have to add as many details as I do to make it a fun party.
Tiki torches are inexpensive and when you add some faux flowers, bam! Welcome to the islands.
Greeting your guests with a Hawaiian lei will make them feel like they just stepped off the plane in Hawaii.
