Tennis Party

Mini Wimbledon Tennis Party

Time to get classy. It's the Wimbledon finals and that calls for champagne. The official drink of Wimbledon is actually Pimms Cup but my man wanted champagne and I was all for it.
I could finally make that strawberry champagne cupcake recipe I've been wanting to make that calls for 4 Tbls of champagne.

You might remember last year's mini party.  I didn't have much time to put it together. I think I had one day's notice. Same with this year. My man tells me Friday while we're at the grocery store he wants a mini Wimbledon party.  Now that I know this is something my man wants to do every year I can better prepare for 2015.

A raspberry champagne drink was enjoyed while we watched the women's final. We found a great raspberry liquor made locally here in Oregon, Clear Creek Distillery.  It mixed beautifully with the champagne.

Whipped cream with a raspberry on top was Mr. Fizzy Party's idea.
Strawberry French Toast was enjoyed for both the women's and men's final.

I zipped down to the local tennis court for these shots.

Apothecary jars are great. You can use them for so many parties. I filled this one with tennis balls for the shoot and as a centerpiece on our table.

Strawberry Champagne Cupcakes to celebrate Wimbledon.  The recipe is from Dollhouse Bake Shoppe
I used sparkling sweet rose champagne and it added ZING to the frosting.

  7. Emailed comment from my mom :) she says, "The French toast looked yummy! (So did the drink, and great job catching a nice tv pic as background); excellent job on the frosting on the cupcakes! And I'm glad to see you're finding good use for those apothecary jars. That was a great idea, topped off by a photo shoot at the local tennis court. Love mom"

Thanks mom! She got me those apothecary jars which are super handy for parties.
