I just got back from a quick trip to VEGAS, Woo Hoo!! Had a lot of fun. Of course I had to track down a cupcake shop while I was there :)
Gigi's is located just off the strip. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and they were wiped out! I got the last Boston Cream, mmmm.
These Peppermint Patty cupcakes look delicious too. I'm getting a sugar high just looking at them!
My breakfast Monday morning as we waited for our flight. My Boston Cream. I was too stuffed from dinner on Sunday to eat it. Yes, I know. How could one be too stuffed for a cupcake! The cake was really moist but I wished there was more cream. I love when you bite into a Boston Cream and the filling just oozes all over. No oozing with this cupcake :( Perhaps I need to try making my own Boston Cream cupcake.
I don't think I'd be able to resist the Peppermint Patty or the one next to it (Chocolate salted caramel?). But Boston Cream ANYTHING, including cupcakes, is a totally acceptable breakfast. I also like Mad Hatter Cupcakes (at least a few miles off the strip) where you can build your own cupcakes and Sweet Surrender in Palazzo.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I want to go back to Vegas. It's been 2 years now... ;)
I was tempted by the peppermint patty for sure. I love caramel but am not a fan of the salted caramel. Salt isn't my thing. But sugar sure is :)
DeleteLove Gigis! Last time I was there I had 6 minis. I HAD to - hubby was taking pictures and I HAD to keep eating them. :) Boston Cream looks super yummy!
ReplyDeleteI would have bought the minis if they had them. When we went they were sold out of almost everything! Popular place :)
DeleteI'm dying to try Gigi's! Jenn, I wasn't a huge fan of Sweet Surrender, but I'm jealous you got to try Mad Hatter. I say another Vegas trip is in order! (Yes, just for cupcakes...) ;)
ReplyDeleteoooh if you ladies plan a Vegas a trip let me know. I'd happily taste test cupcakes with you.
