Crazy Easter Sundae

I recently jumped on the crazy milkshake trend and didn't stop there.  The crazy milkshake turned out so well and tasted so good I wanted to create more.  Say hello to the crazy sundae. Pour chocolate syrup into the sundae cup and fill with scoops of ice cream. Then top.

I topped this sundae with sugary goodness. I melted some pink frosting, dipped the sundae cup in the melted frosting and then rolled it in sprinkles.  It's not a sundae without whipped cream, oh you can't see it? It's in there. The whipped topping is what's holding the candy in place.  Mini dark chocolate bars, bunny sprinkles, cotton candy, Peeps, Ring Pop and Peep Oreo's.

Oh look, there's the whipped cream, peeking out under all that candy.

Crazy Easter Milkshake

I'm not usually one to jump on the trend wagon but when you're combining two of my favorite treats, candy and milkshakes, I'm on board!  Have you seen those crazy milkshakes all over Instagram?  I could look at crazy milkshakes all day.  Of course I couldn't eat a crazy milkshake every day.  I'd be bouncing off the walls.

The best thing about crazy milkshakes is you can top your shake with whatever you want and they're so easy to make.  To make the Peep tower I just skewered them. Like you would shrimp for grilling. The chocolate bunny was a little harder.  I adhered him to a skewer stick with frosting. Frosting can act like a glue when it hardens.  I almost lost the bunny though because it was a sunny day and the sun was melting the frosting as I was snapping pictures. I was outside snapping photo's saying, "no, no, no just stay a few more minutes. Almost done. Don't you fall".  For the sprinkled rim keep reading.

I topped my crazy Easter Milkshake with whipped cream, Easter sprinkles, a pink gumball, Suagrfina gummy bunnies, Peep Oreo's, cotton candy, Ring Pop bunny, Peeps and a chocolate bunny.

Can we say sugar overload :) I'm going to have to run a few more miles tomorrow to burn this off. Totally worth it.

To get the sprinkles to stick to the edge of the glass, melt some frosting. I used a pink canned frosting that smelled like strawberry when I warmed it in the microwave. Yum. Dip the rim of the glass in the melted frosting and then in the sprinkles.  Put the sprinkle covered rimmed glass in the freezer to harden the frosting. Fill the glass with your milkshake mix and top with as much candy as you can.

Easter Bright Party

Pastels for Easter?  Forget that!  Bring on the brightness!!  This bright poppin Easter chic invitation sparked this party.  How cute are those chicks. Even the back has bright chicks all over it.  Guests love receiving happy mail, especially something as bright as this cutie. 

 For this brunch I served up mini croissants, fruit, quiche and sweets of course.  The quiche I made but the croissants I left to the bakery.  I'd like to learn how to make them but... that's going to be on my to-do list for awhile.  When throwing a party keep your stress down and pick up pre-made food. Unless you love to cook and can whip something up like it's nothing. By all means, go for it then.

I made the fun backdrop by attaching balloons to the wall. The balloons matched the colour of the chicks in the invite.  I just taped them right up there.  They stayed up for days.  Oh yeah, I keep my party backdrops up for days, sometimes a week after the party.

Instead of cupcakes or a cake I served up cake in push pop containers.  My neighbor, Delectable Baked Goods  made the cake and frosting colours to match the invitation.  

This is dangerous.  I couldn't put these Jelly Belly jelly beans out until the first guest actually arrived.  These are my weakness.  I would eat this whole bowl if left unattended.  Good thing I was too busy playing hostess or I would have been on one big sugar high!

Oh my CUTENESS!  I finally ordered some candy apples from Roni Sugar Creations.  She turned the chicks on the invitation into candy apples.  Not only are these super cute but they are tasty. mmmmm mmmm  I'd eat way more apples if they all were covered in caramel and candy.

Jelly beans are not only yummy to eat but they make great base layers for candy apples.

Party Favors!!! These were super easy to make. Keep scrolling to find out.

To make these fun tasty party favors you'll need a plastic container available at party and craft stores.  Cut ribbon to fit the size of the lid and adhere it with double stick tape.  I glued a little candy bunny to the front to add some detail and topped the lid with a tulle pom I made.  You can make your own pom or just order one from me. I've got you covered.  Fill container with candy and you're done.  My guests LOVED these.

After the party is over I always like to send a thank you to my guests for coming.  I know my guests time is valuable and I appreciate them coming over and spending a few hours of their weekend at my party.

Homemade Gummy Easter Candy

When I saw this pin on Pinterest I had to go to the Hungry Happenings blog and check it out.  I'm a sugar girl. Don't fill my Easter basket with chocolate candies and chocolate bunnies. Fill it with  gummies, licorice and Peeps!

I was excited to try my hand at homemade candy.  Especially sour gummies. After picking up my supplies I was ready to get started.  Hungry Happenings has a great tutorial so I won't be posting one here.  I didn't have time to take pictures anyway. I was too busy watching boiling pots of hot liquid. Of course just as I was about to pour one hot liquid into the other my cat came up beside me and wanted to see what I was doing. Why is it our cats and dogs always get right under our feet while we're cooking with hot liquids?

Making the homemade gummy candy was pretty easy.  Of course the first time is always the hardest because you're trying to read directions and cook/bake at the same time.  The next time I make them will be easier.





 Look at all those bunny gummies, so cute! Hungry Happenings went with an apple flavor and I chose cherry.   

You can leave these as plain gummy candy or you can add citric acid powder to make them sour. I like sour candies so I made mine sour. Next time I'll add more citric acid and make them more sour. Give them more pucker factor.

My husband said the cherry flavor was ok but he thought watermelon would be better.  I'll have to try that next time.

Surprise your friends with some homemade gummy or sour gummy candies. Pick up some fun Easter Eggs and candy bags. Fill the candy bags with some gummies, put them in the eggs  and give to your friends.

These little bunnies are on their way to Montana. An Easter surprise for a friend.
