4th of July Disco Pool Party

Happy 4th of July

**Oriental Trading was awesome and sent me product in exchange for styling a party**

This 4th of July add a little disco to your party.  Ok, so maybe you're thinking, where's the disco?  Maybe you're thinking, all I see is patriotic and sparkle.  That sequined lantern from Oriental Trading made me think disco when I saw it.  All that's missing is the music of  the Bee Gees and Donna Summer playing.

Fill up the kiddie pool, set out some chairs for relaxing and don't forget the sunscreen.  You don't want your guests going home burnt. That's no fun. Trust me, I know. I'm a red head.

Kids love the sparkle too.

Fruit never lasts at my summer parties.   Stop at your local farmers market and pick up what's in season.  Your guests will love the taste of freshness. Before they enjoy a cookie of course.

Don't forget the party favors.  Bubbles, glowing rings and temporary tattoos are all inexpensive and fun party favors.

Oh you know I had to have cookies and cupcakes at my party. It's just not a party without them.  Maybe you have A/C in your house. I don't. So I picked up store bought cupcakes and cookies. I wasn't about to turn on my oven or stay up till midnight when the house cooled down to bake.  I added my tulle poms to dress up the cupcakes and I don't know many people who can resist Loft House Cookies.

4th of July Pool Party

4th of July Disco Pool Party

**Thank you to Oriental Trading for sending me product in exchange for styling a party

Summer is here!   We've been roasting here in Portland. 🌞 Temps have been soaring to 90 degrees, which is hot for us.  All this hot weather calls for a pool party! What do you do when you don't have a pool?  You order one from Oriental Trading.  Than you invite a bunch of friends over to celebrate the 4th of July with you.

Now if you've been following me long enough and I totally hope you have than you know I love glittery things.   So for this 4th of July party I added a little disco touch.  I scored that glittery 4 and disco table linen at Joann on a smoking sale. Always check the sale area when you're in a craft store. You never know what you may find.

Being a HOT day I wanted to make sure my friends stayed hydrated so I filled a mini cooler with a variety of drinks.  I picked up some Bai ,  Coca-Cola , La Croix,  and a friend brought some festive Smirnoff Ice.

Explore Summer with Evite

Disclosure-I'm part of the Evite Influencer Program and have been compensated for this post.  All opinions and photo's, except the invitation photo are my own.

When Evite  asked me what I have planned this summer I knew just what I wanted to share.  My husband and I always take the week of 4th of July off and enjoy exploring around our city of Portland.  While a lot of people go out of town to enjoy fireworks on the 4th we stay home and watch the neighbors show down the street.  It's pretty impressive and goes almost all night.

Evite has a lot of great summer invitations.

This 4th of July invitation will tell your friends they're in for a fun evening celebrating the holiday.

Set out the lawn chairs and make them all cozy with pillows.  You don't have to spend a lot of money on pillows.  I picked this one up at Target's Dollar Spot.  We love spending summers in our backyard.

Fire up the grill on the 4th of July and make it less stressful.  When your friends ask what can they bring, take them up on the offer.  Have your friends bring salads, drinks, chips, dips etc.

Want a cookie?  I love Loft House cookies.  They are so soft and it's hard to eat just one.  I could bake cookies myself and there's even a Loft House cookie recipe but summer is suppose to be about lazy party fun.  Plus who wants to bake on a hot summer day. So pick up those cookies at the store, enjoy more time with friends and keep that oven off.

Dress up the dessert table with holiday linens.  My secret when it comes to linens?  Fabric.  I love fabric but can't sew so when I see a fabric I love I buy enough to fit my table.

4th of July Ice Cream Social

4th of July means parades, time with family, trips out of town or just wanting to relax at home.  With most people being busy on the 4th of July weekend I decided to have some friends over the weekend before for a Patriotic Ice Cream Social.

Painting Paris Pink's invitation set the tone for the party. My friend even came to the party in red, white and blue docksider's. I love when my friends dress in the theme of the party.
Just like your favorite frozen yogurt place, the table was set with a variety of toppings.
Greyson Designs paper medallions and Fancy and Fold's stars made for a fun backdrop.
For anyone who wanted to make a float or just needed a drink to wash the ice cream down with, 4th of July straws were dressed up with paper stars.

Goodwill is a great place to get ice cream sundae glasses at a much lower price. I got all mine there.

Mochi on ice cream is so good. Look for it at your local Asian grocery. I got mine at Uwajima.

Add a little fun to your wooden spoons by drawing fireworks on them.
Sparkler party favors were dressed up with ribbon and paper stars.
