The Carving of Pumpkins

This last Saturday in the Portland, Oregon area would have been PERFECT for a pumpkin carving party.  It was the absolute best fall day.  I was considering having a pumpkin carving party that Saturday but I was in Las Vegas the weekend before, 2 of my friends don't even have gas money to get out to my house, 1 friend is no longer in the state and another friend is in the process of moving. Sometimes parties just don't happen even though you have all the ideas in your head for a fun one. 

We'd go out to the pumpkin patch and pick the best little pumpkin to carve than back to my house for snacks and a Halloween movie. 
A Halloween cocktail would be served such as this fun Vampire Cocktail 

Some Mummy Pizza to fill us up after traipsing through the pumpkin patch

Of course you have to have some pumpkiny goodies at a pumpkin carving party

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Truffles from Lillyella 

And of course pumpkin pie and pumpkin cookies. Be sure to send your guests home with pumpkin bags filled with all the delicious pumpkin treats they didn't have room for. 

I really do miss not having a pumpkin carving party this year. Next year I'll have to for sure.
