Pineapple Glam DIY

$5! This pineapple was only $5 at Joann's. Well, actually less once I used my coupon that was good on all items including sale items.  The pineapple was normally $24.99 or what I like to call $25.  When I picked it up I had no idea what I would do with it. But it was $5!  I have a tiki party every year so I could use it for that, or...

I could glam it up and put it in my office. I'm currently redoing my office, Did you see my Woo Hoo! Wednesday post on it?

I had some gold glitter at home and my friend from Suddenly Surrounded by Taxidermy  had told me about this Martha Stewart product so I picked some up.
I spray painted the pineapple gold and glittered up the top. Gold seems so glam to me and the glitter would add some fun!
Looks so much better in gold and glitter don't you think?  My wall is a mauve-y pink but it sure doesn't look like it in this photo does it? I'm slowly adding more gold and mint to the office to off-set the mauve-y pink wall.
Stay tuned for more office re-do glam.

Happy Blogiversary!

Woo Hoo!!! Fizzy Party turns 3 today!

I'll be honest, it kind of snuck up on me.  I knew it was coming. I saw it on my calendar and then BAM! it was here. Is anybody else's year just flying?

Just like the excitement of a new year and all that it holds, Fizzy's 4th year holds a lot of opportunities and goals. Here's just a sample:

*Styling a summer party for a party blog specializing in children's party.
*Styling a Christmas party for an online party magazine.
*Participating in my first podcast. **UPDATE-the podcast didn't happen **
*Having my Halloween party featured in a publication on store shelves this fall.
*Improving the look of the blog
* and I've been kicking around the idea of doing a one time online magazine of unique parties.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I couldn't do it without all of you and the amazing community of party stylists, wedding planners, bakers, cookie artists and party bloggers.

Now go have a cupcake to celebrate :D

Woo Hoo! Wednesday Dream Office

DREAM  OFFICE

My office for my day job needs to be, shall we say, uncreative and unarty. It has to be boring office-y looking.  It was recently painted a mauvy pink and I am adding touches of the three fabulous G's. Gold, glitter and glam! But I can't do anything SUPER fun like this,

I'd hang a fun chandelier to the ceiling and get rid of those lovely office fluorescent lights. I asked the facility people if they'd hang a chandelier for me and they just gave me a sideways look.  They didn't say no...

Available at Z Gallery
I'd hang this fun piece on the wall behind me so you could see it from the hall as you walked by my office. Statement piece!
Available at Z Gallery
These fun guys would hold up my notebooks of manuals for the new software system we just got.  hmm, now that I type this, I just may need to do something like this.

Available at Z Gallery

On the wall next to me I would do a gallery wall of gold foil prints.  There are some great ones on Etsy. I know because I've been looking.

I am adding the three fabulous G's to my office. Just not as much as I'd like.  I'll share it with you when it's completed. Who knows, some of this Woo Hoo! Wednesday just may end up in my boring needs to look like an office, office.

Woo Hoo! Wednesday Outdoor Dining

WOO HOO! IT'S BACK!

Yes, Woo Hoo! Wednesday is making it's return. Woo Hoo!  I heard from several of you that you looked forward to this post and missed it.

What is Woo Hoo! Wednesday?  Woo Hoo! Wednesday started back in August 2011. It was for all the party items I saw that I'd love to buy but either couldn't afford it, had no where to store it or it wasn't versatile enough. Those items you see and think, " I LOVE this! but..."

All products on this page are from Pier One. I was in no way compensated for these products nor do I own them. I just like their store :)

I love all the beverage dispensers out there. So many shapes and styles. I want them ALL!  I just haven't broke down and bought one yet.
$39.95

Hee hee, how cute is this condiment dispenser? This is totally a Woo Hoo! because I would never buy it for $29.95. I wouldn't get enough use out of it.
Pineapples are having a moment right now. They are so trendy for summer.  You can have this hot little item for the Woo Hoo!! Wednesday price of $99.95

How fun would this chalkboard menu sign be! This is an item that I love but would probably never buy. It looks to elegant for the types of parties I throw.  Although.... I could totally see this at a woodland themed party with a touch of glamour.

I hope you had fun on Woo Hoo! Wedneday
Let me know what you think. Should Woo Hoo! Wednesday be a regular feature again?

Helicopter Birthday Party

Helicopter Birthday Party
Guest Post from A Party Studio
Welcome Tali of A Party Studio and thank you for sharing your son's Helicopter Birthday Party with us. I love the POP the red brings to the party and it pairs beautifully with the blue tones. One of the things I really like about this party is the simplicity.  This is a party any parent could put together. Of all the pictures in this party I would have to say my favorite is the one of Asher kicking back with his feet up eating a cupcake. Priceless.
A Party Studio offers custom invites, labels, water bottle wrappers, Hershey kiss stickers and other personalized decorations for your party needs! Baby showers, Baptisms/Christenings and children's birthday parties is our specialty! To order items for your upcoming party visit Tali's etsy shop .
My son, Asher, is crazy about helicopters so the theme for his 2nd birthday party was very easy to decide.

For the decorations, I kept a very simple blue and red color scheme. I hung large white tissue pompoms from our chandelier to give the effect of clouds and I used blue paper fans on the backdrop. I purchased a wooden A and I spray painted it light blue. I figure that I can use this after the party in his bedroom.

For the dessert table, I ordered large sugar cookies from “C is for Cookie” to match the printables. One of my friends made vanilla bean cake pops for the table. She of course made them in blue and added red sprinkles. The chocolate cake and the vanilla cupcakes were from a local bakery. I also had Hershey Kisses which I’d personalized with stickers that said “A Kiss From Asher”.

Since his party was in the morning, we served breakfast food, including powdered doughnuts which we called “Doughnut Clouds”…. The kids thought that was fantastic. For the adults, we served a green chili sausage casserole and fresh fruit with dipping sauce.

The majority of the children at the party were aged between two and four years old, we decided to forego traditional party games. Instead, we had a plethora of toys available for them to play with and we set up a glitter tattoo station. That was a huge hit with the parents as well as the kids! Since we had Danielle from All Things Great and Small Photography taking photos at the party I was able to relax and do the glitter tattoos instead of behind a camera taking photos the whole time.

For the party favors, we gave out “Marshmallow Clouds”. These were basically glassine envelopes that I’d filled with large white marshmallows. I added a large label and tied a “thank you for flying with me” hang tag using blue and white twine. I displayed them up at the drink station inside a red cardboard suitcase with a tag that read “Baggage Claim”.

Tennis Party

Mini Wimbledon Tennis Party

Time to get classy. It's the Wimbledon finals and that calls for champagne. The official drink of Wimbledon is actually Pimms Cup but my man wanted champagne and I was all for it.
I could finally make that strawberry champagne cupcake recipe I've been wanting to make that calls for 4 Tbls of champagne.

You might remember last year's mini party.  I didn't have much time to put it together. I think I had one day's notice. Same with this year. My man tells me Friday while we're at the grocery store he wants a mini Wimbledon party.  Now that I know this is something my man wants to do every year I can better prepare for 2015.

A raspberry champagne drink was enjoyed while we watched the women's final. We found a great raspberry liquor made locally here in Oregon, Clear Creek Distillery.  It mixed beautifully with the champagne.

Whipped cream with a raspberry on top was Mr. Fizzy Party's idea.
Strawberry French Toast was enjoyed for both the women's and men's final.

I zipped down to the local tennis court for these shots.

Apothecary jars are great. You can use them for so many parties. I filled this one with tennis balls for the shoot and as a centerpiece on our table.

Strawberry Champagne Cupcakes to celebrate Wimbledon.  The recipe is from Dollhouse Bake Shoppe
I used sparkling sweet rose champagne and it added ZING to the frosting.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoying our little Wimbledon party.  Stay tuned for a Pinterest board dedicated to tennis parties. Looks like I'll be throwing a mini Wimbledon party every year and I need inspiration.
