Personal Foul: Wing Over Consumption

Personal Foul: Over Consuming Wings.

Superbowl Sunday I'm hoping to have a few people over to watch the game.  It won't be a big party because none of my girlfriends watch football.  I'm all about the mini party this year anyway.  Wings are on the menu but which one(s).

There's the recipe I made a few weekend's ago from jujugoodnews.  Caramelized chicken Wings. These were very tasty and I'll probably have to make these. But it's always good to try something different.

Maybe these Crispy Baked Asian Chicken Wings from Just a Taste.

mmm Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Wings from Rock Recipes look tasty too.

Decisions, decisions.  Which one would you serve ?

Stay tuned for Woo Hoo!! Wednesday, where I'll share some of my favorite free football printables to use at your Superbowl party.

Battle of the Carrot Cake

My husband's favorite cake is carrot cake.  I needed a devil's food cake mix for some cupcakes I was making and while I was picking out my cake mix in the baking aisle he spotted this:

He wanted to give it a try which meant I would be making it for him.  Now I am not a fan of carrot cake so I can't give my seal of approval on this box mix.  My husband on the other hand said it was pretty darn good. Perhaps Duncan Hines should send me a few box's for promoting their carrot cake mix ;)  wink wink

A food blogger I am not. No fancy camera, no food styling. I did attempt to take a foodie picture of the final product.  You know I had to fizzy up the frosting and not just smooth it on with a knife.

My husband ended up having 2 pieces. I'd say he'd give this box cake mix 2 thumbs up.

Made for Each Other

Playoffs and Wings that is.  They're just MADE for each other.

While we planted our behinds on the couch Sunday to watch the playoffs we enjoyed these tasty caramelized wings.

I found the recipe here at jujugoodnews .  This sauce would even be tasty on Chicken breasts.  I'm keeping  this recipe on hand  for summer BBQ's.

Gift Giving

It's Christmas in January for some  Little Fizzy's

Fizzy Party Facebook has reached 716 !!! And I want to thank some little fizzy's. Really I would love to thank you ALL but I haven't won the lottery and a business isn't sponsoring this. It's just little 'ol me. And sadly, I'm not made of money and I haven't found the magic money tree.

Let's get all the unfun legal stuff out of the way first. This isn't a sweepstakes or a giveaway it's just me giving gifts. Here's why I'm not doing a contest, giveaway or sweepstakes: Blog Law. More Blog Laws. Too much of a headache and hassle sadly.

The FUN part: I'm gifting 5 gifts. What are they? shhh, it's a surprise. But I can tell you it's party related. Of course :)

The rules
Since this is a gift there is no purchase necessary.
You must be 18 years of age.
United States residents only. Sorry, shipping is expensive outside the U.S.
Void where prohibited by law. (although I don't know of any laws for gift giving but as with the U.S. res. only this is a CYA)

The Gift giving starts on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Pacific time.
So set a reminder, an alarm, something to remind you to come to this post on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. pacific time.

Entry: The first 5 people to leave a comment telling me 1.what you like about Fizzy Party 2. what you'd like to see more of and 3. What you'd contribute if invited to guest blog will receive a gift. See why the alarm or reminder is so important. You want to be sure you're one of the first 5 people.

I will contact the first 5 people on the evening of Monday, January 14, 2013. Those 5 people have until Friday, January 18, 2013 to respond or I go to comment 6, 7, 8 etc.

Thank you for all of your support. Even if you're not one of the first 5, I would love to hear from you.

Any comments before 7 p.m. on Monday, January 14th will be void.

***Update. We have our 5 comments :) *** You can still leave comments. I read each and everyone of them. Your comment just won't be part of the gift giving.

Shortbread Poets Party

I just got invited to a Robert Burns shortbread party.  One of the bosses at my work loves to throw mini parties at work during lunch.  So on January 25th she's throwing a Robert Burns Shortbread party.

Now I admit I had to look up who Robert Burns was.

I'm curious to see how many types of shortbread will be served and how she'll decorate.

*** UPDATE*** The party didn't happen. We received an email informing us that she didn't have time and the party was cancelled. She will be hosting a Valentine's party, woo hoo!!

Woo Hoo!! Wednesday

This post came about by a conversation I had with my bank teller.  I visit the same bank so they all know me and this week we got on the subject of birthday's.  Not sure how that came about. You know, one minute you're asking how are ya and then the next you're talking about babies, birthday's, vacation plans.  The bank teller was telling me that her sister's 50th is coming up and what she got her for a gift. I love this idea and it's totally a Woo Hoo!!

With her sister turning 50 and starting to sport some grey hairs, the bank teller decided to do a 50 Shades birthday themed gift.

She used grey wrapping paper and tied some Happy 50th Birthday ribbon in a shape of a tie on the box. Here's a tutorial I found on Good Housekeeping

Inside the box she filled it with 50 grey things.  Everything from nails, to make-up to the book series.
What a fun birthday idea.

Bridal Shower Work Luncheon

Oooh boy am I behind in my posts.  I went a little MIA in December because I had my friend of 24 years come over for a visit so I was prepping for that, getting ready to go on vacation from work for 2 weeks and  Christmas.

Now that my friend has flown back home it's time to get back to posting.  In December a co-worker of ours was getting married so another party gal at work threw her a bridal  luncheon.  It turned out really cute.  Lets take a look, shall we?

The decor was kept simple because we only had 20 minutes to set up since it's at work.

Being December means treats everywhere and over eating. So a salad bar was set up to make us all be a little healthy this time of year.
Sparkling cider was dressed up for the occasion.
Wedding cookies
Whenever my co-worker makes cupcakes for work she always takes the wrappers off.  She says the cupcakes look better without the wrappers.  I'm not a fan of doing this.  The person serving them touches every cupcake. Even with freshly washed hands I'd rather have the server touch the wrapper not the cupcake.
Little touches like the stamped bride and groom cupcake toppers add to the fizzyness of the party.

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek into an office bridal luncheon.
