Engagement Anniversary

5 years ago during the month of April my husband proposed to me :)  I immediately did what every woman does as soon as she's engaged...bought bridal magazines! There was no Pinterest and I didn't follow blogs then. The ones shown below were my favs and I still enjoy flipping through them. I'm a magazine junkie :)

We looked at several locations before deciding on the perfect place.
Ponzi Vineyards  is a beautiful setting. We imagined ourselves married among the grape vines.  When you get married at a vineyard you have to buy cases of wine. We're not big wine drinkers and the more we looked at the cost and the reception area, the more we decided this wasn't the place for us. It was too formal for us. We are not formal.
Oak Knoll Winery is less formal, outside and the reception would be in a converted barn. Again, you have to buy cases of wine. Although this location was pretty, it just didn't speak to us.
Possibly Mt. Hood, it has such a great a view. We drove up one weekend and thought, although it's beautiful, it's a long drive and when have we ever gone to the Mt.? We're not Mt. people.
McMenamins Edgefield is a great location too.  Lots of Portlanders like McMenamins. We really liked the location and thought, maybe this is it. Until a plane flew overhead and lots of people walked by. The McMenamins grounds are open to the public.
We finally found the perfect location, Cannon Beach. We're beach people, not Mt. people.  The beach is relaxing and casual like we are. We weren't limited to one vendor like you would be at vineyards and McMenamins. It's just as long a drive for our guests as Mt. Hood is but people love the beach and could use the wedding as an excuse for a long weekend and enjoy it with their family.

How many locations did you look at before deciding on THE place?
Where did you get married?

NW Party Girls Get Together

This past weekend I road tripped it up to Washington for a NW Party Girls get together. I met with Party Pinching and Pop.O.Licious. I just love all these party names.
After a fun day of party shopping we had to get our cupcake on!
Bite Me Cupcakes is where we got our cupcake fix. It's a cute little shop in the Everette Mall.  Filled with bling from the chandeliers, pink funness and cupcakes. The owners were on hand and came out to chat with us about their cupcakes. Super nice people and it shows in their yummy cupcakes.

How cute is this shop.
Now the hard decision of which yummy little cupcake to eat. The very informative and friendly staff told us that these little beauties were the top seller.
I was very tempted by the cinnamon swirl.
These peanut butter lovelies were in my sites too.
hmm, maybe I should try a cake pop. All packaged up and ready to give as party favors.
I decided to be adventurous and try the Maple Baconater.
Pop.O.Licious tried the Salted Caramel, Party Pinching went for the mint and I went for unique. Of course we all tried a little bite of each others.  The salted caramel was perfect, just a hint of salt, not too overpowering. mmm, mint, very delicate flavor and oh so good. The maple baconator was more like a muffin, cupcakes for breakfast anyone? Maplely bacony goodness. Of course Pop.O.Licious had to tried the cake pops :)
Flavors at this adorable little cupcake shop rotate daily. Their website lists all the flavors they have and they have some yummy sounding ones. Almond Rocha, Tropical Thunder, Snicker Me Doodle. I think I need some samples sent to me please :)

In addition to the cupcakes Bite Me has a party room you can rent. Frosted blank cupcakes are given to the party goers to create their own works of cupcake art with sprinkles and fun toppers.

Next time your in the Everett Mall, stop by Bite Me cupcakes for a treat and tell them Fizzy Party, Party Pinching and Pop.O.Licious sent you.

Woo Hoo!! Wednesday

Today is truly a Woo Hoo!! Wednesday.  The Root Cellar's Garden has bestowed upon me The Versatile Blogger Award :)  Thank you so much. I'm honored to receive this.  How much time to do I have before they cue the music and I have to stop thanking people, hee hee.

Before I pass this award on to 15 fabulous bloggers (that's the rules, 15) here's the official rules, I looked them up.

  • Add the award to your blog.
  • Thank the blogger who gave it to you.
  • Mention 7 random things about yourself.
  • List the rules.
  • Award to 15 bloggers.
  • Inform each of those 15 by leaving a comment on their blog. I think I'll send them a Facebook message too as suggested by The Root Cellar's Garden.

hmm, 7 random things about me:

1. I don't like vanilla ice cream. Unless it's smothered in caramel sauce.
2. Not a fan of chocolate (unless it's ice cream). Could take it or leave it. I'm hearing a lot of gasps on this one.
3. I love bats. I think they're cute. Once while camping one buzzed very close to my head. The lady next to me freaked but I loved it and wished it would do it again.
4. I'm a fan of crime shows/drama's.
5. I don't collect anything. Unless you count party supplies.
6. I'm a 'burb girl. Enjoy visiting the city and country but wouldn't want to live in either one.
7. I don't have a favorite movie.

and now, drum roll please...
The winners are...

3. Every Day Should Pop
6. Frost Me

Congratulations to all 15!  Now I know you all are busy women and don't expect you to pass this on right away. Sometime this year would be nice though :) Ha Ha.

Pop on over and show some love on these talented ladies blogs or Facebook pages and tell them Fizzy Party sent ya :)

Breakfast at Tiffany's Birthday Party

It all started with an invitation, created by Bird's Party just for my Breakfast at Tiffany's birthday party. I LOVE the design she created.
P.S. Don't forget to check out the latest issue of Bird's Party magazine featuring me darling, on page 154.

The back drop was inspired by a DIY from Piggy Bank Parties  and the bling on the forks from Zakka Life.

Oh would you look at that, I forgot a little bow on the martini glass. Even experienced Party Diva's forget a few small details from time to time. oopsie.

The sparkly paper covering the back splash was inspired by The Partiologist.  Oops! looks like I spilled my diamonds.

I have to give a shout out to my family and friends here. I didn't ask them to bring anything and would you look at the food on that table! I didn't need to cook at all. Shoot, next party I have I think I won't cook anything (except the cupcakes, I do love baking). More $$$ for party decorations that way. Woo Hoo!!

Bling for the guest table.

Dessert :) Strawberry cake with champagne cream cheese frosting made by me.  The fabulous toppers were made by Edible Details.

This party was a blast! My friends got into the theme and dressed up to the nines. They even really got into the Photo "booth"  I set up. Hamming it up for the camera and enjoying the props I set out.

Breakfast at Tiffany's related props. Feather boa for glamour, have to have the cigarette holder, fun sun glasses, long black gloves and a kitty mask (scene in the movie).

PARTY FAVORS!!! Who doesn't love those.  I made two sets. I don't know about all of you but I have THE hardest time getting people to RSVP.  Thus, two sets of party favors. But first,

My friend of Great Big Beautiful Dogs surprised me by making party favors for all my guests!  How incredibly sweet of her and just look how fabulous these are. Tiffany box's made of white chocolate and filled with coconut. YUM!

As I said above, I made two sets of party favors. The first set was for my guests who I had to call or email and ask them if they were coming. Yes, I know my friends are reading this.  I glamoured up plain black gift bags and filled them with a sparkly nail file, Cracker Jacks (as seen in the movie), homemade peanut butter chocolates and home made bath fizzies

The second party favor was for the two guests who RSVP'ed first with out me even asking them.  One of them before she even received the invitation. I just told her one was coming. Yes, I know my friends are reading this. hmm, maybe they'll RSVP next party to get the rockin party favor. Woo Hoo!!  :) Said with love of course.

I would have loved to have given all my guests this party favor but I haven't won the lottery yet :) Breakfast at Tiffany's book, sparkly nail file, pearls (fake. I told you I haven't won the lottery), blue eye mask, feather boa, nail polish and a Lush bath bomb. The Tic Tac's? Oh, because they're blue and my brother gave me a whole box of them.

What do you think? Ready to throw your own Breakfast at Tiffany's party?

Ciao darlings

Pretty Party Butter

Those of you that follow me on Facebook know I attempted to make pretty party butter out of my rose molds.

See, look how pretty they are... IN the mold.  The sad little one on the right is what they look like when I take them out of the mold.

I really wanted pretty party butter for my Breakfast at Tiffany's party. I was given all kinds of suggestions on how to make pretty party butter but, ugh, too much work.

Than BAM! like a bolt of lightening, while in the Michael's baking aisle is struck me! I think the other shoppers even saw a light bulb above my head.

Take a mini cookie cutter

Fill it with butter

Gently push the butter out of the cookie cutter and smooth out the knife marks ... TA DA! Pretty Party Butter

Vegas treats

Over indulging in Vegas is a given. It's sin city after all.  Strolling through TI  (Treasure Island), it wasn't the pizza in Pizzeria Francesco's  that caught my eye. It was the Cannoli cupcakes.
I mean, look at that! Chocolate shavings atop creamy frosting. I couldn't wait to bite into it. It was my 1:00 a.m. snack :)
Hmm, this picture didn't look this fuzzy at 1:00 a.m. when I took it.  Inside the cupcake is the cannoli filling. I'd love to say this cupcake was amazing.  It was a little bland. I could kind of taste the cannoli filling. The cupcake was good, but it didn't POP!

My other indulgence, Death by Chocolate at LeCentral bar in Paris.  Death by Chocolate is bartender Kenneth's signature drink and he's the only one who makes it. Funny guy too. Guess you have to be if you're a bartender in Vegas.
I saw him put Hershey's chocolate syrup, vodka and whipped cream in it. Kenneth calls this drink a creeper. One of those drinks that tastes soo good and than BOOM, you're on your ass. He wasn't kidding. So if you find yourself in the Paris hotel in Vegas. Be sure to pop on over to Le Central bar on the casino floor and ask for a Death by Chocolate.

Cupcakes in Vegas

While in Las Vegas I took a page from Cupcake Crusaders  and sampled some cupcakes for them. The sacrifices one makes ;)

The Cupcakery  located on the ground floor, waay back in the corner at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino  is well worth a visit.  Even their web site is adorable! BLING, just like Vegas baby!
So many scrumptious choices it was hard to decide. What I should have done was sampled one every day we were there. That's it, I need to go back. Party girls, pack your bags.

How cute is this logo!
YUM!!!
Too many yummy choices. Coconut Bliss, Grasshopper, Mound of Joy, The Julius, the choices. Go to their website to read all about their delicious flavors.

We finally settled on the Bugsy and Kir Royale.
My husband gave the Bugsy a thumbs up. That's saying a lot, my man is picky about his carrot cake.  You can't see it, but the Kir Royale sparkled :) I was a little worried when I sat down with my gorgeous cupcake. The frosting and cake felt firm when cut with my fork.  I was pleasantly surprised by the moistness of both. The raspberry cake was delicious and you could taste hints of the champagne in the frosting. The flavors blended wonderfully together.  This is a cupcake I'd love to serve at my upcoming Breakfast at Tiffany's party. Wonder if I can re-create it?
Cupcake Crusaders, if you're reading this, have you made something similar before?

Happy Easter

                        HAPPY EASTER!

Enjoy my Peep invasion :)  I have no kids to set up an Easter egg hunt for and I come from a big family, so I never have to cook Easter dinner.  {I know, how lucky am I} I always go to one of my families homes. But being the party girl I am, I HAD to do something for Easter :)
I had to run out and take these photo's quick. The sun doesn't show itself much or for long in March in Oregon.
As you can see, the wind was not cooperating with my photo shoot. Several Peeps were blown away in the shooting of this party scene.
Little shady, I know. But as said, I had to catch the sun while it was out. As soon as I finished this shoot, the clouds roared in and opened up with some liquid sunshine.
Have a happy Easter. Hope you enjoyed the Peep show.
